wondering how long the whole process takes and how much, around a ball park figure the thing would cost?

can one file for divorce even if the other person refuses to agree with getting a divorce?

It usually takes as long as until the lawyers rape you for every penny you have.

Seriously, try to keep things civil and avoid going to court. There are mediation services that can help arrange the settlement - it's not worth fighting over small stuff to satisfy your pride/ego. Of course if children are involved then it could take longer and cost more money. Good luck.

nothing is typical about a divorce. If either party wants to they can drag it out for a couple years. If both parties are in agreement and no kids are involved in can take just a few weeks. You can do it all completely online.

Highly doubt this can be settled in a civil manner and not by my choice either. There are no kids involved, but I just bought a new home about two year ago and had it refinanced last month. Plus we have joint bills and shit like that with her name on the title. There is no way she is going to be civil about this and will not be in agreement to give me a divorce.

She has nowhere else to go and she can't be here and support herself on her income alone. I gotta get the F out of this bottom line, but at the same time I don't want to hurt the broads feelings anymore than they are already going to be.

Just not happy with this situation as its more like roomattes now and I don't want to be with her anymore. I care about the broad, but not in love with her. Hard to explain, but I just want this over with. As each day goes by I just want her gone more and more and I'm firm on that decision.

Scary shit because I'm going through a similiar situation now with a couple of differences. Same questions you asked is what I've been wondering. I can definitely feel what you're going through though. Best of luck to you.

Does she still live with you? Just do annoying shit if she does.... don't wipe your ass or shower, bring hookers home, spill beer on the kitchen floor, park your car behind hers in the garage and lose your keys. eventually she wil hate you so much she will initiate the divorce.

Fuck the costs.. it is well worth it!

I've decided, I'll never get married again

If i ever feel the urge, I'm just going to find a woman I don't like and buy her a house.

I think you have to cut your loses, settle, ask her what she wants and be done with it, try to find a middle, you're going to lose anyway....

A long divorce can be exhausting, try to do what ever it takes, as it will take a toll on your life, personal, at work, what ever life you've got now.....

One of the best things you can do is get an attorney who specializes in divorce that you can afford. Call the county you reside in and ask for a referral from the county board of lawyers. Get at least two and talk to them, go with the person you're more comfortable with. Last time I checked the going rate was $175 per hour - it's probably gone up since then. You will also need to give them a retainer. Depending on the circumstances, it could be as little as $3,000 or as much as $20,000. It does not matter who starts the process. Each attorney will have you fill out a FULL DISCLOSURE FORM (set of questions) - BE 1,000,000% TRUTHFUL WITH YOUR ATTORNEY & LET THEM DO THE TALKING FOR YOU ON ALL MATTERS LESS THE JUDGE ASKS YOU A QUESTION. Be ready for it to get "ugly" at a moment's notice. If you have any joint accounts that only require one signature for withdrawls, take 50% of the money - not a penny less or more, this shows the judge you are trying to be fair. Having gone thru this twice, I do have some insight to this matter. If you have any questions, ask away or send an e-mail (in profile) and it'll be answered in a timely fashion. Sorry for the situation you're in but know there is help.
